About

The Choir sings a very varied programme, from ancient music of the 16th and 17th Century, the Baroque period of Bach, Vivaldi and Handel on to Classical Music from Haydn, Mozart, Brahms and Mendelssohn.

More modern examples of the Choir’s extensive repertoire are pieces from Ralph Vaughan Williams, John Rutter, Paul Simon and many other popular

20th Century composers including Folk songs and Spirituals. Medleys from various Shows also feature

We aim to sing music which is both enjoyable to sing and which will appeal to audiences, with many pieces which audiences will recognise.

The Choir also has an extensive repertoire of Christmas music, both carols and secular, and is available to perform Christmas concerts at Churches and other venues.

The Choir is registered with Amazon as an eligible Charity. If you buy from Amazon, you can log on to “Amazon Smile” and select The Occasional Singers as your chosen charity and then proceed with your purchase. A small percentage of your purchase price will be assigned to us.

New Members

Do you enjoy singing or would like to have a go?

A warm welcome awaits you at one of our rehearsals.

The Choir welcomes new members in all voice parts.

We are currently looking for new singers to join our mixed voice Choir. There is no formal audition or voice test. It is more important that your voice blends in with the rest of the Choir.

You do not need to be able to read music although it is an advantage.

Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings in Dalton Church from 8:00 to 10:00 (Sept – December 2021)

If you wish to learn more about the Choir or to book the Choir for a wedding or other function please contact us; we will be delighted to hear from you.
