Ormskirk Occasional Singers

Founded in 1977 as a quartet to sing a few carols at a Christmas concert, organised to raise funds to renovate the Old Church house in Ormskirk.  From that small beginning the choir now has 20 singers – and occasionally more.

  • The choir is a registered charity and is active in supporting other charities’ fund raising.
  • The choir give between 4 and 8 public and private concerts every year – Pre-Covid that is – just starting giving concerts this autumn.
  • The choir repertoire is extensive, consisting of classical, spiritual, folk songs and songs from the shows.
  • The Choir does weddings, remembrance and celebrational church services. As well as a variety of social functions.
  • The choir welcomes new members.
  • Music Director is Michael Kelsall

Rehearsals are held every Monday evening at Edge Hill University from 7:30pm till 9:30pm – in these times of Covid precautions currently rehearsing in Dalton Church.
